Lake Ferry, South Wairarapa, 2003
Photographs by Terry Moore
'People love this coast. Here the sea, wind and land come together in ever-changing constancy. This is a harsh, unforgiving beach. You cannot swim - there is no sand. When the weather is cold and the sea rough, people still congregate, walk and fish.'
'At a time when ownership of the foreshore is debated, these images remind me of the spiritual relationship many of us have with the coast. The ebb and flow rhythms of the coast help put the pace and direction of our lives into perspective.'
