Play - Childhood landscapes
Back to exhibition
Play
Continuing the exploration of childhood by using the narrative, the
photographic series, to investigate the day-to-day reality of my family.
This is one part of an ongoing exploration and of a much bigger
installation.
Childhood Landscapes
I think, as adults, when we have own children we revisit much of our
childhood. The memories of childhood are quite often remembered in little
waves, half remembered, half embellished. We sometimes have incredibly
strong remembrances of an emotion, of taste, of smells, of touch, of
colour, scenes of holidays spent on beaches, of walks in forests, of make-
believe worlds, of injustices, of places and people. I wanted to recreate
that half remembered experience. That moment not quite all there, but
never-the-less so fleetingly, so strongly remembered.
