Welcome
Photospace opened in
December 1998, and it is still the
only dealer gallery in the Wellington
region dedicated to contemporary
New Zealand fine art photography.
Photospace also has a stock room,
with a range of contemporary
NZ photography on display.
Stock includes recently exhibited
works and secondary sales.

Gallery Opening hours
Wednesday-Saturday 11am-4pm
Mon, Tues by appointment.
Closed Sundays & public holidays.
The gallery may be open beyond these hours,
often on Monday & Tuesday if attended.
If you are coming in for a passport photo, this can usually be done after 10am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and sometimes Saturdays from 11am.
There is not usually a photographer available on Wednesday. Ring or email first to be sure.

Courtenay Place Lightboxes

The lightboxes outside the St James Theatre
in Courtenay Place, Wellington, currently
feature the exhibition Three Stories Up
- street photographs by Gabrielle McKone.
James Gilberd of Photospace Gallery was the
curator, and the exhibition was funded by the
Wellington City Council's Public Arts Fund.
The photos will be a part of the capital city's
streetscape until June 2010.

Photospace gallery is always on
the lookout for new talent.
We also now have more gallery space available.
There are several distinct exhibition venues:
- Photospace Gallery - 2 rooms + a stockroom, mostly reserved for established exhibitors but with room for new talent.
This operates as a conventional dealer gallery with a commission on sales.
