Portraits can be shot on a digital camera (I use a Fuji S5 Pro, which is specially designed for portrait and wedding photography), or on 35mm or medium format film.

• Basic studio portrait session, digital photography, graduation portrait: $60.00

• Longer studio session, multiple portrait group combinations: $100.00 (up to 45 minutes)

• There is an additional cost for film use, depending on film type and quantity used

  

• Location portrait session, $120.00 or more, depending on travel and photography time

• Special rates for actors, artists, model portfolio shoots - please enquire

• All prices above include proof prints, usually supplied by email

Black & White Portraits on Film - Hand Printed
A black & white portrait shot on traditional film and hand-printed in the darkroom is something special these days. This process has a unique, timeless quality that digital photography simply cannot match.

Photospace professional photographer James Gilberd specialises in black & white portraiture. This is done on film and carefully hand-printed by the photographer in the Photospace darkroom. Very few photographers in New
Zealand currently work with this traditional method.

If you require a photo of yourself for internet or website use, for commercial purposes or for a social networking website, a dating service etc, our CV portrait package is a cost-effective way to get a
professional digital portrait.

The photos shown here are older examples. This page has just been updated, and I will soon post some more recent examples photographed in my new studio at Courtenay Place.

Conditions of portrait photography services:

• negatives or digital masters remain the property of Photospace studio
• copyright always remains with Photospace studio
• photographs may be used by Photospace for promotional purposes (but please let us know if you don't wish this to happen)
• clients may use photographs for personal, non-commercial purposes only
• photographs may not be copied or scanned from the prints, as this is a breech of copyright
• this price list may be updated without notification, but once you have paid your deposit, agreed estimates will still apply
• proceeding with portrait photography services entails acceptance of the above conditions

Payment options:

• you will need to pay for the sitting at the time of photography
• payment for enlargements and framing should be made at the time of ordering
• on-site EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard are available, cheques welcome
• direct payment by internet transfer is welcome - banking details will be provided upon request
