These photos and others were taken for my coverage of Webstock 2011, a major international internet-related conference held annually at the Wellington Town Hall. It shows that photographing speakers at conferences doesn't have to be dry and boring, but it helps when the conference is as dynamic and interesting as this one, and features the likes of Tom Coates, Amanda Palmer, Steve Souders, Frank Chimero, et al. Passport photographs - also visa and other ID photos - have been a Photospace specialty since 1998. This is one of the very few places where passport photographs are taken with care by a professional photographer. $25.00 for 8 photos, 35x45mm. Discounts & other sizes/prices available.

These days the specifications for photos are very strict, resulting in many photos being rejected by the authorities. This causes delays in processing applications, and costs you time and extra money. It makes sense to have a specialist take & print the photos, (which are, of course, guaranteed).

Note: appointments are not always necessary, but it pays to make an appointment if you're making a special trip in to be photographed. See passports page.

James Gilberd is an experienced professional photographer who enjoys working with film as well as digital media. He has a B.Des (phot.) from Victoria University 1997 and a Certificate of Professional Photography from Wellington Polytechnic 1987.

James is heavily involved in the creative side of photography, running Photospace Gallery, teaching photography & occasionally exhibiting his own work.
